2017 CRAWFORD PERFORMANCE POINTS SERIES
ROUND 1 RACE COVERAGE
The highly anticipated 2017 RC Monster Truck Challenge Points Seires got off to an awesome start on February 19th at a brand new venue for the seires, RC Central in Brooklyn, CT. The monsters did battle on their awesome indoor dirt track and what an awesome setting it was with a whole slew of new trucks and drivers making their RCMTC debuts. The drivers competed on a challenging turning course and qualifying races were showing that this was a highly competitve field. It started with series veteran and top contender Derrick Algieri earing the top qualifier spot driving his Skoal Bandit SMT-10, which is a brand new platform to R/C Monster Truck Racing this year. There were a few modified Axial SMT-10 trucks on hand and they did not dissapoint, like rookie Ron Perreault driving his monster truck Spare Time. Ron drove his truck all the way to the finals of qualifying Round #1 and took the win! Spare time remained impressive in the champoinship racing bracket by working his way up the ladder and meeting Kyle's Samson in the finals. It was Samson however backing up last year's Round 1 Performance and taking the win in the finals yet again, setting the stage for what is going to be an awesome battle for the Series Points championship in 2017.
