Kevin Adair wins Round #2 driving Yeti!!
2017 CRAWFORD PERFORMANCE POINTS SERIES
ROUND 2 RACE COVERAGE
The RCMTC returned to R/C Madness in Enfield, CT for the first Points Series race at the venue in 2017. Round #2 was held on RCM's awesome indoor carpet racing facility and featured an old school st. louis style race track. The track featured twin side by side ovals, each with one jump, one turn, a flat speedy backstretch and a second and final turn lining the trucks up for the final jump over the crush cars to the finish line. The drivers going over the track at the beginning of the event were expecting an easy day at the races, the track proved to surprise some. The grippy carpet, tight turns and high speed stretches were tricky, fast and competitive. There were some awesome runs during early qualifying rounds that let everyone in RCM know that they were in for an intense and competitive day of racing. Veteran Derrick Algieri brought out a new truck, Black Stallion which earned the top qualifier spot, but there were others lurking in the background ready to strike. Kevin Adair would knock out the top qualifier during the championship bracket in the third place. Adair in his first year of R/C Monster Truck Racing proved from Round 1 that he would be worthy competition and a threat to win soon. His Yeti and Nitemare trucks marched through the brackets, not only by winning that third place race with Nitemare, but getting Yeti to the finals against Kyle DeFalco's Boogey Van. During the championship final race, both trucks were off to a lightning side by side start, and Boogey Van experience the throttle hanging open and the truck rolled over in the first turn!! Boogey Van was battling that issue for the later part of the day, but Yeti was on it anyway, laying down a strong run to back up an impressively strong day of racing to earn Kevin Adair his very first RCMTC win. With how competitive this year has been already in these first two rounds, winning these events has really become a true test of driver and machine. Congrats to Kevin on the big win and enjoy these pictures and video coverage!
