ROUND #2 COVERAGE
JULY 11th 2009
BARSTORMERS
After several scheduling conflicts, the RCMTC finally returned back to action for Round #2 of the inagural New York RC Monster Truck Challenge series. 12 big monsters rolled into the infamous Barnstormers RC Raceway in Chester NY to do battle on a tight, fast 3 jump straight drag, much like you'll find on the Monster Jam west lebanon valley speedway the following week. Seems simple enough right? 3 jumps in a straight line?? think again!! the track was extemely wild all day long. The drivers really had their hands full with the trucks constantly out of shape while trying to reach the finish line before his competitor and this was no easy task. The track provided fast racing, close finishes and BIG AIR!! The competition was so close that out o 6 total rounds race we had 5 different winners. One of the highlights of the day were the debut of two new rookies to the RC Monster truck racing circuit. Making their debut apperance on the RCMTC tour was Long Island native George Fabbiani with his monster truck known as the SLAYER, sporting a mean looking black and green painted HPI grave robber body. Also making his debut was Abdul Rascoe of Middletown, CT with his aluminum CPE terminator chassis and hot red ford body to make up the truck known as BIG RED. Lets get down to the action!!
