The 2012 RC Monster Truck Challenge Crawford Performance Points Series heads outdoors for the first time this year, as 14 of the top r/c monster trucks in the circuit rolled into the awesome RC Madness racing facility in Enfield CT. This is round 2 of the points series and the points are still up for grabs and the drivers had a fast, fun and challenging track to compete on. The drivers would start on the outside of the track on a table top jump, head down a straight stretch and then make a U-turn that would bring the trucks over the same table top in the opposite direction, next would be another turn to the center portion of the track where they would hit two crush car sets and fly to the finish line. Derrick Algieri and Excaliber had a strong performance in round 1 to grab the early points lead and he was not about to let up today. He met Dan DeFalco driving the CPE Amsoil Shock Therapy, with Excaliber grabbing the narrow win to set the tone for the day. Kyle DeFalco was right on his heels on day with both Bigfoot and Maximum Destruction as they were able to stay consistent without winning a final round until the last race of the day. Abdul with the Big Red really came on strong as well with a final round win and several strong wins, as well as strong runs by Ryan's new Ground Pounder ride and new faces on the circuit such as Green Mamba, Flames and Big Blue. At the end of the day it was Derrick's Excaliber grabbing his second consecutive win, just 10 points in front of Bigfoot and 17 in front of Maximum Destruction. Shock Therapy and Grave Digger the legend rounded out the top 5. This should be interesting to see how this affects the points series, as we head into our final race of the points series in August.
