2009 RC MONSTER TRUCK CHALLENGE ROUND 3 COVERAGE
August 15th 2009 -- The New York RC Monster Truck Challenge series returned to the Barnstormers RC Raceway to heat up the already scorchingly hot August weather, as 14 monster trucks roared into the Chester NY track for a day of racing on a challenging Chicago style racing course. With off-road practice going on early in the day, the RCMTC track was setup on the inside dirt oval. RCMTC officials constructed a tough chicago style turning course with an RCMTC twist. To keep the track exciting, tougher and not your average chicago track, two big ramps were placed at the start of the course. The trucks would then turn to the inside crush cars and hit each set once, making two turns. The trucks also had a nice long run on the straightaways which made for some big speed and close finishes.
Greg Noonan made his debut on the RCMTC circuit driving the Cant Stop Rockin' and Wolverine monster trucks. Greg was a strong contender all day
RCMTRA series veteran Chad Brown made his return to monster truck competition driving the Purple Passion and Bloodlust monster trucks. Bloodlust is one of two trucks on the circuit currently running the tamiya twin force chassis.
